Achieve – our bespoke online learning platform
We launched our Live Online courses as an option in 2020 throughout the pandemic but it still remains a very popular choice for many of our customers. It’s flexible, it saves on costs and time, while also allowing for interactivity with the trainer and other delegates. But we have elevated this experience further through our development of Achieve our own bespoke learning platform. But what is exactly Achieve and how does it work?
Introducing Achieve
Achieve has been developed for both Live Online learning and face-to-face courses which has allowed us to move towards a Blended Learning approach. It combines all parts of the course into a streamlined end-to-end user experience from pre-course work to the video call, quizzes and the certificate at the end of your course. There is no need to use any other software, just your internet browser, so there are less issues accessing the training and more time for learning. We have been developing this system since the end of 2021, and since its inception we have received consistentally positive feedback on its efficiency and its interactivity.
Hybrid Learning with streamlined end-to-end user experience
It’s web-based – no more downloading apps
Even with a known system such as Microsoft Teams we found some delegates really struggled to access the training. As the whole system on Achieve uses a web-browser, you no longer need to download an app beforehand, all we need you to do is log in and access the workbooks and join the call, which is both much easier and a big time saver.
Improved online video calling
Within Achieve, we have a video conferencing tool called BigBlueButton. This is a specialised educational video platform with great features for making the calls more interactive and fun. Microsoft Teams did serve us well in the past as a learning platform however, it came with complexities. As we needed all functionality, we did need you to join our organisation. With this came some issues and delayed starts for some courses. With Achieve this is no longer an issue as now all you need to do is log in, click join, and you’re in the call!
Interactive quizzes and instant results
We’ve worked hard to develop a range of interactive quizzes for you that give you instant results, which are not only an essential way to consolidate your learning but also a fun way! You can also do the practice multiple-choice exam questions on Achieve, again with instant results. This allows the trainer to see your progress and aid you where needed. Written exam revision questions can also be done in Achieve. The system notifies the trainer that you’ve answered a question, meaning you’ll get a quick and individual response.
Instant certificates
For all courses without an external exam, certificates can be instantly downloaded once you have completed your course. No waiting for them to be sent to you via email days later. The certificate will be emailed to you when you have accessed it online, then it can be saved and send to your HR department as proof of training. We can also access your certificates so we can send all certificates to your HR department to keep on record.
Blended learning
As we now focus on moving back to a more normal way of working after the pandemic, we will be using Achieve for our Level 4 courses for self-study revision questions and pre-course work. In the future, we aim to bring you a fully blended learning experience in the classroom as well as online. We can also make a face-to-face course paperless if your team want to annotate soft copy workbooks within the classroom.
